Drawing & painting have always been my passion. I think I grew up with a pencil in my hand along with a tin watercolor set (can't tell you how many of those I went thru!). I took art & craft classes every summer with my best friend and took Art in high school and had some wonderful teachers. Other subjects didn't interest me like art! After I married I had the opportunity of working for a missions organization and got to utilize some of my creative talent in my administrative assistant position ... designing conference brochures and other fun tasks.  My husband and I even had the opportunity of going on a missions conference in Singapore and Malaysia .. it was awesome! 

When I had my first born son, I stayed home and started dabbling again with painting.  I started doing home shows, then craft festivals.  One day a lady picked up an item and said, "You know, you should consider doing children's art to coordinate with popular beddings & themes, there is not much out there to choose from." (Well, that was about 9 years ago and there is plenty to choose from now!). But, needless to say, I took her advice and starting selling on ebay. I was was one of the first kid's artists on ebay (to coordinate with beddings) and have almost 10,000 feedback with 100% postive rating. (I'm pretty happy about that!). I was actually the first artist on ebay who offered bedding inspired children's art!

In 2005 Farmhousefive.com came to be.  It has been a fun journey meeting so many wonderful moms!  In fact, one of my customers has written a darling children's book and asked me to illustrate it ... so I have been busy doing that on the side!
